Chapter 4 – Peppermint Pass:

"Do you have everything you need for our next stop?" the conductor asked Chestnut as they passed through the train's front passenger car.

"Hat, Mittens, Meowstercard and Family Gift List - that's everything - I'm ready for my first visit to the big city of Peppermint Pass! And just in time, I can see the station!" Chestnut replied.

Just ahead of the train, at the base of Gingerbread Mountain, the horizon was filled with a festive glow of lights beaming from hundreds of tall skyscrapers shaped like holiday gifts.
The bright vibrant colors of red and green sparkled off the buildings filling the air with a festive hue.

"Just look at that! Each building appears to be taller than the last!" Chestnut exclaimed.

"Peppermint Pass is the oldest city in the land," the conductor explained. "Just look at the beautiful and sturdy architecture of the buildings!"

"I'm so excited to explore each one to find holiday gifts for my family," Chestnut replied. "And as a treat to myself I have tickets to "Cats" on Purrway. And then I am going to have a meal at Le Poisson - it is at the very top of Morris Tower with a view of the entire city!"

"Have fun my little friend!" the conductor chuckled. "I can't wait to hear about your adventures in the morning.

The train had barely come to a stop before Chestnut leaped out the door onto the platform. "There's so much to see in the big city - I only wish we were staying longer than overnight!" he thought to himself as he blended into the crowd of bustling holiday shoppers.
