Chapter 8 – Purr-fect Playground:

Kittens, kittens! Everywhere I look is kittens!" exclaimed Madame Bernadette, a particularly plump Russian Blue, as she ran through the sleeping car corridor.

"Chestnut!" yowled the conductor, "We must calm the triplets! There's cream on the dining car ceiling, the seats in passenger car three are shredded to bits and I won't even mention what they did to my original edition of ‘Old Yeller’!"

"I'm out of ideas to keep them entertained," replied Chestnut. "Kittens are rambunctious by nature after all!"

"I have the perfect solution at our next stop, Candy Cane Village!" the conductor replied. "Thankfully we are just arriving!"

The crisp cold air did little to calm the triplets, but Chestnut was sure the conductor's surprise would subside their energy.

"Here we are," Chestnut announced. "Purr-fect Playground - who's ready to have some fun?"

"Me, me" Stan exclaimed!
"Look at that bouncy scratcher!" Tree shouted.
"It reminds me of the elves!" Claws added.

The kittens ran to the scratcher and began to play - bouncing the fuzzy ball arms, clawing at the post and chasing each other around the base. Their play lasted for over an hour and just watching them made Chestnut exhausted.

"I think it's time we head back!" he shouted over the triplets' meows of glee.

"Yes please," replied Tree, "I'm so sleepy!"

"Me too!" exclaimed Stan, "And Claws is already sleeping!"

Chestnut scooped Claws into his arms, led the other kittens to the train and placed them in their beds where they slept soundly the entire night.
