Chapter 12 – A Royal Respite:

"Now arriving at Whiskery Station! All passengers please depart from the rear car." announced the conductor over the train's loudspeaker.

"Finally!" exclaimed Chestnut, "I am ready to leave the train and stretch my paws. It feels like we have been traveling forever!"

Chestnut gasped at the grandeur of the Chateau towering over the village ahead. The large hotel was bustling with cats of all varieties running from floor to floor, scratching at its many festive posts and playing with the toys on the roof.

"What a wonderfully regal place to stay and celebrate the beginning of the holidays!" he thought as he walked towards the check-in desk.

"Welcome to Chateau Purrluxe," a small snow-white Munchkin cat greeted Chestnut, "we are so glad you will be staying with us!"

"Thank you, replied Chestnut "I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation!"

"Your room is ready, and we added an extra soft cushion to help you relax. Also, please enjoy the rooftop play area and one of our many scratching poles!"

"Thank you, I will!" exclaimed Chestnut rushing off to drop his suitcase in his room so he could get to some much-needed playtime.

Chestnut spent the next several hours meeting new friends while playing with the Chateau's activity centers until he was so tired he could barely keep his eyes open.

"I had better go to bed!" he yawned deeply, "Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I know there will be many new friends to meet!"

He slept soundly the entire night dreaming of turkey and his favorite dish - creamed corn.
