Twelve Days to Whisker Wonderland Chapter 13 - Giving Thanks

Chapter 13 – Giving Thanks:

“This way to the Ever-Autumn Forest Trolly!” a large Cheshire cat announced to the guests assembled in the Chateau’s lobby.

Once the last of the guest boarded the trolly six large turkeys began running - pulling the trolly and its passengers down the village lane towards a large wooded area just barely visible in the distance.

“This ride is my favorite part of Thanksgiving!” a young Tabby said to Chestnut.

“Look at the beautiful autumn colors of the trees in the forest!” her brother added.

“Oh! Ever-Autumn Forest!” Chestnut exclaimed “Now I see why the forest is named as it is! The autumn colors are beautiful!”

The trolly came to a sudden stop as they entered a clearing with a sign reading "Harvest Purr-Fest". Beside the sign was a miniature Chateau buffet table and in front of the sign Chestnut saw a surprise - Stan, Tree and Claws!

"Chestnut!" exclaimed Stan.

"We are so happy to see you!" Tree purred.

"Mamma knew you would be alone for Thanksgiving and suggested we join you!" Claws added.

"What a wonderful and touching surprise," Chestnut said tearily, "This truly will be a holiday to remember!"

The guests spent the day stuffing themselves with turkey and dozens of side dishes including the triplets mother's spectacular creamed corn. They ended the day with a game of touch pawball and pie for dessert.

As the sun set and the trolly prepared to depart, Chestnut hugged each of the triplets.

"We are thankful for you" the triplets exclaimed.

"And I am thankful for each of you!" he said as the trolly pulled away.
